Step 1
Pick your patterned outfit
Pull the colors from the pattern to create your color palette. Then, fill in any gaps with coordinating and neutral colors.
Step 2
Use your color palette
Start making outfits for the other members using your color palette. Think about adding in textures like lace on moms dress and different types of fabrics.
Step 3
Layer and accessorize
Depending on the time of year and if temperature allows, adding layers and accessories to your outfits creates so much depth and variety. Read below for more layering ideas.

- Sometimes it is best to choose moms outfit first to make sure she finds something she loves and comfortable in - then style the rest around her outfit.
- Always consider the location when choosing outfits and color palette.
- Color palette - When making your color palette stick with 2-3 colors and the rest neutrals.
- Patterns - It is OK to have more than one person wearing patterns but mix up patterns. (more than one pattern actually looks great when done correctly)

Should we match?
Match? No. Coordinate? Yes. Dressing everyone in the same color is boring (and personally, I think the all beige look is on the out). Have fun with it. Pick various textures, accessories and styles to add dimension and interest to your images.
